Saudi coffee is prepared from medium to highly roasted coffee beans, boiled in water to the desired degree of light golden to brown, no sugar is added, and depending on the specific recipe, saffron, cinnamon, cardamom or cloves may be added. It is served in a coffee pot and a cup specially designed for enjoying Saudi coffee, and the bottom of the cup is filled with a small amount, unless you prefer otherwise. To break the bitterness, it is served with dates or sweet recipes.
